The county is comprised of 559 square miles and 357,760 acres making it one of the State’s largest counties. More than 15,800 permanent residents live in Gulf County. Gulf County is home to many beautiful beach areas and Port St. Joe is where the Florida Constitution was drafted. You can even drive on the beaches in Gulf County with a permit. Fishing, scalloping, and horseback riding on the beach are some of the fun activities in the area. Communities include Port St. Joe and Port St. Joe Beach, Mexico Beach, Cape San Blas, and Wewahitchka.
